Short Description

We are looking for a Genetec Administrator to support the day-to-day operation and continuous improvement of a large-scale physical security environment for a global technology organisation. In this hands-on role, you'll be responsible for administering and maintaining the Genetec Security Center platform, ensuring the reliability, security and performance of both access control and video management systems.Working closely with IT, security and facilities teams, you'll oversee system maintenance, software and firmware upgrades, platform health monitoring and documentation while helping to ensure the physical security infrastructure remains secure, compliant and highly available.

Description

Administer and maintain the Genetec Security Center platform, including access control, video management, user administration and system configuration
Perform routine maintenance activities, including server patching, operating system updates and platform health checks
Plan, test and execute firmware upgrades for access control hardware and IP camera infrastructure with minimal disruption to business operations
Coordinate and deliver Genetec platform upgrades, including testing, validation and rollback planning where required
Develop and maintain clear operational documentation, including standard operating procedures, maintenance guides and recovery processes
Continuously monitor system performance, proactively identifying and resolving hardware, software or connectivity issues
Manage user accounts, permissions and access policies in line with security best practices and least-privilege principles
Collaborate with infrastructure and network teams to support integrations, server environments and network connectivity
Provide support for security investigations by retrieving and exporting video footage and access control records when required
Maintain accurate documentation covering system architecture, device inventories, maintenance history and change records
Participate in change management activities to ensure maintenance and upgrade work is properly planned, communicated and documented
Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to internal users and site teams using the physical security platform

Requirements

3–5+ years of hands-on experience administering Genetec Security Center, including both Access Control and Video Management modules
Experience performing firmware upgrades for access control hardware and IP camera environments
Practical knowledge of Windows Server administration, patch management and routine infrastructure maintenance
Previous experience planning and executing Genetec platform upgrades, including testing and rollback planning
Strong documentation skills with the ability to create clear operational procedures and technical guides
Good understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing, VLANs and firewall concepts relevant to physical security systems
Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a dynamic enterprise environment
Strong communication skills and experience collaborating with IT, facilities and security stakeholders

Nice to Have:

Genetec certifications such as GCA (Genetec Certified Associate) or GSSP (Genetec Security Systems Professional)
Experience supporting physical security systems within manufacturing, industrial or utility organisations
Familiarity with other physical security platforms such as Milestone or Lenel
Experience working with IT service management and change management tools such as ServiceNow
Previous experience in a managed services, resident engineer or customer-facing technical support role
