Short Description

Help shape how we monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize SAP SuccessFactors services across 30+ data centers. You’ll work across engineering and operations to build scalable telemetry pipelines, automate monitoring, and make complex systems easier to understand.

Description

Design and implement OpenTelemetry instrumentation for traces, metrics, and logs across microservices, monolithic applications, and cloud-native workloads.• Build and operate OTEL Collector pipelines, receivers, and exporters.• Define instrumentation standards covering SDK configuration, sampling, semantic conventions, and telemetry correlation.• Develop automation for observability self-service and internal configuration management.• Implement monitoring as code across applications, cloud platforms, and shared services at enterprise scale.• Deploy and operate observability tooling across public and private clouds, supporting SAP SuccessFactors across 30+ data centers.• Partner with developers and operations teams to turn requirements into practical solutions.• Document and present approaches to operations, engineering, and executive audiences.

Requirements

Strong automation skills and hands-on Linux experience.• Experience with at least one observability platform, such as SAP BTP Cloud Logging Service (OpenSearch), Dynatrace, Zabbix, Splunk, ELK, or Prometheus.• Infrastructure-as-code and monitoring-as-code experience using Terraform, with familiarity with Consul and Vault in enterprise Git environments.• Configuration management experience with Ansible or similar tools.• Experience deploying, managing, and monitoring Docker and Kubernetes workloads in public cloud environments.• Scripting skills in Bash/Shell and Python.• Experience building and improving CI/CD pipelines with tools such as Jenkins.• Familiarity with Git, Jira, and agile ways of working.• Experience with at least one public cloud provider; Azure and/or GCP preferred.• Strong troubleshooting skills in compute performance and optimization, with an eye on total cost of ownership.• Clear communication, collaborative problem-solving, and a service-oriented approach to supporting operations, engineering, and product teams.
