Database Engineer
- Administer and maintain Microsoft SQL Server databases in production environments.
- Monitor database availability, performance, capacity and overall operational health.
- Troubleshoot complex issues involving connectivity, query performance, blocking, deadlocks and resource utilisation.
- Support SQL Server environments running on AWS, including EC2, EKS, S3 and EBS.
- Support SQL Server workloads running in Kubernetes and troubleshoot database, storage and resource-related issues.
- Manage backup, restore, high-availability and disaster-recovery activities.
- Support SQL Server Always On Availability Groups or equivalent HA solutions.
- Lead technical troubleshooting of production incidents and perform root cause analysis.
- Manage database access, permissions and security controls.
- Develop and maintain automation using T-SQL, PowerShell or similar technologies.
- Maintain runbooks, SOPs and operational documentation.
- Contribute to database reliability, performance and operational improvement initiatives.
